Public Services Agency organized a panel discussion within the Innovations in Governance Regional Forum

Government representatives from the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and members of the UNDP offices in the regions mentioned above paid a familiarization visit to the PI “Public Services Agency” on Thursday, 16 November 2017. Within a panel discussion the members of the delegation got more information about the institution and the reform of public services in the Republic of Moldova. The event was organized within the Innovations in Governance Regional Forum. Representatives of the Public Services Agency, State Chancellery, E-Governance Center and Center for Implementation of Reforms participated in this panel discussion.

At the beginning of the discussions Vitalie Ciolac, the Deputy Director of the PSA, spoke to the guests about the newly created institution and its first achievements. He noted that a number of amendments to the Government Decision no. 125 of 18 February 2013 aimed at simplifying the operational processes related to the provision of public services in the field of population documentation were recently approved. Pavel Sincariuc, the Head of the Public Services Management Department, informed the participants about the Multifunctional Centers that are to be opened by the Public Services Agency and explained how they would work.

Iurie Ciocan, the Director of the Center for Implementation of Reforms, said that although the creation of the Public Services Agency through the merger of the Civil Status Service, State Registration Chamber, State Enterprise “Cadastru”, Licensing Chamber and State Enterprise “CSIR “Registru” wasn’t easy at all, this reform would reduce bureaucracy and corruption in the field and would be the first step in modernizing public services.

Innovations in Governance Regional Forum took place between 14-16 November and was organized by the Moldova Social Innovation Laboratory – MiLab with the support of the State Chancellery, UNDP Moldova and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
