The PSA urges the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to check the validity of their identity documents

In the context of the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, the Public Services Agency urges all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with voting rights to verify the validity of their identity papers and take actions to change them until the date of the elections in case they are not valid.

According to the provisions of art. 7 of the Law no. 273/1994 on Identity Documents of the National Passport System, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, who are domiciled in the Republic of Moldova, are obliged to hold identity cards from the age of 16 years.

To ensure the provision of citizens with identity documents the Public Services Agency takes all necessary measures to simplify the operational processes of document issuance and quality service rendering. In order to obtain identity documents the applicants may apply to any territorial subdivision of the PSA, regardless of their registered place of domicile or residence. Please note that the ID card shall be issued free of charge to applicants, who applies for the first time for identity documents.
