A registered immovable property is a protected one

The Public Services Agency (PSA) in partnership with the Public Property Agency and the Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre will register over a million private and state-owned real estate during the period 2019-2023. The works will be carried out within the Land Registration and Property Valuation Project funded by the World Bank.

In particular, it refers to the massive primary registration of about 800 thousand private immovable property from 490 rural localities and 350 thousand of public immovable property owned by the state and local public authorities that were not included in the national cadastral system. The registration procedure for all immovable property will be free of charge. Massive registration works will be initiated in the second semester of this year starting with the districts of the northern region: Ocnita, Briceni, Donduseni, Edinet, Floresti and Soroca.

In the first semester of the year the Public Services Agency will mobilize the necessary human and technological potential for the execution of the works and will train the representatives of public authorities and companies authorized to execute cadastral works. Also, in order to ensure the correctness of the works and data entered in the Register of Immovable Property, when executing works on identification of the objects of immovable property and their owners, public consultations will be organized in the localities.

The project implemented by the Public Services Agency aims at completing the registration of all real estate properties in the Republic of Moldova, as well at conducting cadastral works, registration and valuation of both private and public immovable property. Currently, more than 30 percent of the objects of immovable property on the territory of the country are not registered in the Register of Immovable Property.

The Financing Agreement on the “Land Registration and Property Valuation Project” amounting to EUR 30.1 million was signed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the International Development Association (part of the World Bank Group) on September 17, 2018, and entered into force on  January 14, 2019.
