Over 3550 citizens benefited from the services provided by the PSA on the day of parliamentary elections

On the day of parliamentary elections the Public Services Agency issued to the citizens entitled to vote more than 3550 identity documents necessary for the participation in parliamentary elections. About 1900 citizens requested provisional ID cards, and 1670 received their ID cards issued according to their prior request.

Provisional ID cards were issued free of charge, at the time of receiving the applications submitted by the citizens, who did not have any valid identity documents or in case of ID documents that were declared lost, stolen or damaged. Most applications, in quantity of 280, were registered with the Identity Documents Offices in Chisinau municipality.

At the same time, during the period January 24 – February 21, 2019 the PSA provided the identity cards issuance in short terms, regardless of the requested service or the fee paid. To be able to exercise their voting right the citizens, who applied for identity card issuance during this time period, had the opportunity to receive the document before and on 24 February 2019 inclusively.

During the week preceding the elections the Identity Documents Offices issued 1736 provisional identity cards and provided the issuance of 16283 identity documents and their handing over to the applicants.

Please note that on Sunday, February 24, 2019, in order to provide the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with the identity cards necessary for their participation in parliamentary elections, all the Identity Documents Offices and the multifunctional centers of the Public Services Agency worked according to an extended work schedule from 7.00 to 21.00.
