The NAC-PSA joint operation

Within the framework of a bilateral Cooperation Agreement between the Public Services Agency and National Anticorruption Centre the NAC officers and anti-corruption prosecutors together with representatives of the Public Services Agency detained a citizen of the Republic of Moldova for trading in influence. He is alleged to have promised a woman his support in passing the exams for obtaining a driving licence, for which he demanded 20 000 lei.

According to the information provided by the NAC, a criminal case was opened for trading in influence. As a result of cooperation between the PSA and NAC relevant documents were drawn up and the suspect was detained for 72 hours. If found guilty, he could face up to 6 years of imprisonment or a criminal fine.

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office conducts the criminal prosecution.
