A delegation from the Republic of Belarus paid a working visit to the Public Services Agency. Representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus came to Chisinau for two days, 20-21 December 2017, to study the experience of the Public Services Agency in issuing biometric passports.
During the visit the specialists of the Population Registration Department presented to the Belarusian guests the information about the legislation that regulates the issuance of identity documents of the national passport system, and also about the operational processes regarding the issuance of biometric passports.
In order to see how the Moldovan passport system works, Belarusian officials visited one of the Identity Documents Offices of the Capital and the production center of the Agency, where documents containing biometric data are processed. The members of the delegation were impressed by the information technologies implemented by the Public Services Agency in the field of population registration, as well as by the ongoing reform of the public services system.
The Republic of Belarus will implement the biometric passport system in 2018.
