Information regarding the conditions for presenting the identity document In cases where public services for issuing identity documents, registering at a residence and/or temporary address, authorizing the emigration of residents of the Republic of Moldova, repatriating citizens of the Republic of Moldova, as well as issuing extracts from the State Register of the Population or other informational resources of the Public Services Agency require the submission of the applicant's identity document or that of their legal representative, or the person representing them, or the person acting in their interest, presenting the identity document is not mandatory if it is valid.
The applicant’s identity or that of the persons representing them, as well as the validity of the identity document, is confirmed through information from the State Register of the Population.
Exceptions are situations where the identity document is necessary to establish the identity of the person for issuing the first identity document of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova (passport/travel document issued by foreign authorities), as well as for its replacement upon request.
