The Public Services Agency notes an increasing number of applicants for category B driving licenses for automatic transmission vehicles. Over 85 percent of applicants are women.
According to statistical data, in 2016 the number of persons who obtained a driving license for automatic transmission vehicles was 359. A year later the number doubled and reached 774 driving licenses, of which 672 were issued to women. From the beginning of this year, 153 women and 16 men have already received driver’s licenses for automatic gearbox cars.
Please note, that the practical test for obtaining a category B driving license, can be passed using automatic transmission vehicles made available to candidates by territorial subdivisions of vehicle registration and driver qualification in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul municipalities. Interested candidates in other districts may request practical examination using the vehicle provided by the driving school, for training .
Please note, that if the practical test is passed using a vehicle with automatic transmission, the corresponding note specifying the right to drive only such types of vehicles shall be marked on the issued driving license.
