The number of requests for the issuance of the passport of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova has significantly increased this year starting May. Daily, about 3150 applications for identity documents are submited to the territorial subdivisions of the PSA, while in April only 2000 requests were registered. The greatest number of requests are submited in Chisinau.
In order to ensure the efficient activity of the Offices for the issuance of identity documents and quality provision of public services, a series of administrative measures have been taken during this period.
In Chisinau municipality, for Botanica and Riscani Offices for the issuance of identity documents a work schedule of 6 working days a week was set: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8.00 to 17.00.
At the same time, the working day was extended by one hour for the OIID “Centru” of Chisinau municipality. Now it works from 7.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday and from 9.00 to 13.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
According to the established work schedule, a continuous process of service provision is ensured in all the Offices for the issuance of identity documents. The lunch break is organized so that to avoid the interruption of the activity.
Citizens may apply for the issuance of identity documents to any territorial subdivision of the Public Services Agency, irrespective of the place of domicile or residence.
More than 203 400 passports have been issued since the beginning of this year. While in April 32 800 applications were registered, in May their number reached 47 740. During the first two weeks of June 29 500 documents have already been issued.
