The Public Services Agency takes all necessary measures to provide quality services

27.06.2018 13:53

The Public Services Agency takes all necessary measures to simplify the operational processes related to documents issuance and quality services provision. In the context of increasing number of requests for passport issuance we would like to point out that applicants may apply for identity documents at any territorial subdivision of the Public Services Agency, irrespective of the place of residence or domicile.

Most requests for the passport issuance are registered in the Capital. In order to ensure the efficient functioning of passport issuing offices in Chisinau and quality public services rendering during this period a series of administrative measures were taken. For Botanica and Riscani Offices for the Issuance of Identity Documents a work schedule of 6 working days a week was established, and the work schedule for the OIID “Centru” was extended by one hour from 7.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday, and from 9.00 to 13.00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note that according to the legislation in force, citizens of the Republic of Moldova can hold two valid passports at the same time. Moldovans living abroad may apply for a passport at the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova.

Another measure meant to simplify the procedure for identity documents issuance consists in the amendments and additions to the Law 273-XIII of 9 November 1994 on the identity documents of the national passport system. The draft was approved by the Parliament in the final reading and provides for the exclusion of information about the blood group from all the types of identity documents and the extension of the validity period of the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova from 7 to 10 years.

Since the beginning of this year more than 217020 passports have been issued. Statistical data show a significant increase in the number of requests for passport starting May this year. In January 32892 requests were received, in May the number of applications amounted to 54613 and as of the 26th of June 54802 requests for the issuance of the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova were already registered.
