The Public Services Agency started to receive applications for international driving permits. The document is issued upon request, based on the national driving license. The model of the document was approved by the Government in compliance with the provisions of the Convention on Road Traffic, concluded in Vienna in 1968.
In order to obtain the international driving permit applicants must present the identity document, valid national driving license of new type, model of the year 2008 or 2015, proof of payment of the established tariff and the application form. The price for issuing the document within 30 days is 500 lei and may vary depending on the requested time limit.
The international driving permit will be valid for driving in international traffic only in the presence of the national driving license and will be issued for up to three years. The document will lose its validity when the right to drive is cancelled and the national driving license is withdrawn. Another international driving permit may be issued upon the request, if the person obtains a new national driving license.
