Almost 1.4 million of citizens have to renew in 2021 their expired passports

Almost 1.4 million of citizens have to renew their passports in 2021, the reason is the expiration of its validity. More than 366,000 passports will expire this year.

The Public Services Agency has all the necessary institutional and operational capacities to issue documents to all the citizens. At the same time, considering the pandemic situation, but also in order to avoid congestion and queues in the main offices of the institution, the Public Services Agency recommends the citizens to obtain in proper time the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova.

The passport validity may be checked on the official website of the PSA www.asp.gov.md, by accessing the application Check the status of the document.

We draw your attention to the fact that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova have the right to hold two valid passports at the same time. The application for issuing the identity documents may be submitted to any Multifunctional Centre, regardless of domicile and residence of the applicant.

The Public Services Agency can provide the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with identity documents in all its territorial subdivisions, according to the following work schedule: Monday - Saturday, from 7:30 to 16:00. More details about the work schedule of the Multifunctional Centers (Monday-Friday or Monday-Saturday) can be found on website of the PSA - www.asp.gov.md/en/cmf.

The identity documents issuing period may vary from 30 days to 24 hours.  The applicants can apply for the issuance of the identity documents to all the Multifunctional Centers of the country. The passport may be issued on an expedited basis (on the same day) at the Multifunctional Centers of Chisinau no. 2 (Puskin Street, no.47) and no.5 (Alexandru cel Bun Street, no.56).
