Within the Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement signed by the Public Services Agency and the Security and Intelligence Service, in the context of cooperation and mutual support in carrying out the tasks of preventing and counteracting the acts of violation of the citizens’ rights, the law enforcement representatives with the support of the Security Directorate of the PSA documented the activity of an organized criminal group created in order to facilitate the successeful passing of the driving exam.
It was established that the members of the criminal group provided the candidates for the driving license exam with special equipment and organized the remote transmission of the correct answers in order to facilitate the passing of the driving exam. For the rendered services the members of the criminal group demanded illegal rewards that ranged from 500 to 1000 euros. As a result of the revealed facts, the law enforcement bodies initiated a criminal case, according to the constitutive elements of the crime under Article 326 paragraph (3) point b) of the Penal Code.
It should be reminded, that on December 31, 2020, the internal security subdivisions of the SIS and the PSA detained a Moldovan citizen in flagrante delicto, and special equipment was found and seized from one of the beneficiaries.
The PSA will continue to work with law enforcement authorities in the context of combating the violations of the citizens’ rights, identifying and preventing risks of corruption, as well as ensuring institutional integrity.
We reiterate that the process of passing the practical and theoretical tests is provided with an audio-video recording system. These records are used both in the examination process and in the procedures for appealing the examination results.
