At the request of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), on June 29, 2021, the Public Services Agency held a meeting with representatives of the Elections Observation Mission to the Republic of Moldova for the 11 July early parliamentary elections.
During the meeting, the responsibilities of the Public Services Agency were discussed in the context of the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021. The PSA specialists provided the information regarding the activity of the Agency during the elections in the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as in the context of the 11.07.2021 elections.
At the same time, the sides discussed some aspects of the interaction of the State Register of Population with the State Register of Voters, and in particular the way of updating them. It was presented the information on the provision of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with identity documents in order to participate in the elections, as well as some statistical data according to the State Population Register. Among the important topics on the agenda the aspects of updating the State Register of the population in cases of death of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova (in the territory of the Republic of Moldova and in the territory of another state) were brought up.
Particular emphasis was paid to the state registration of political parties, commercial and non-commercial organizations by the competent subdivisions of the PSA.
The OSCE representatives Mr. Rashad Shirinov and Mr. Paul O’Grady thanked the PSA executive board and specialists for organizing the meeting, presenting relevant information and stressed the importance of the ODIHR cooperation with the authorities directly involved in the election process in order to promote security, democracy, human rights and compliance with the OSCE commitments.
