Exclusion of the “training ground” subtest for the category „B” driving license exam applicants will enter into force on 8 May, 2022

08.04.2022 16:28

The Government decision for the approval of the Regulation on the examination procedure for obtaining the right to drive, the issuance and validity of the driving license was published today, 08.04.2022, in the Official Monitor.

The new provisions are to enter into force on 08.05.2022.

According to the new provisions, the “training ground” subtest will be excluded for category B driving license candidates (about 80% of the total number of candidates). Attention (!): The “training ground” test shall remain in force only for driving license applicants for category AM, A1, A2, A and B1.

The practical exercises shall be carried out under road conditions and not on the training ground of the training centers of the Agency. Thus, the practical on-road test shall also include the elements of the training ground subtest (“ramp”, “right-angled parking” and “three-point turn”) and shall not last more than 25 minutes.

Candidates for category B driving license who, until 8 May 2022, passed the test for the elements of the training ground subtest (“ramp”, “right angle parking” and “three-point turn”), but failed to take the “road” subtest, they will not have to repeat the test again on the day of the next test.

The suggested changes aim to modernize and increase the quality of the public service by reducing the number of required documents, the costs, the duration of the service provision and their alignment with European standards.
