During the first six months of 2022 the civil status registry offices of the Public Services Agency issued 8148 marriage certificates. In the same period of the last year 8289 marriages were registered.
The marriage is registered free of charge by the territorial subdivisions of civil status registry offices of the PSA or by the local public administration authorities of the first level. At the same time, at the wish of the future spouses, the marriage can be registered in a festive manner, in special festivity halls of the agency. We remind you that the marriage is registered upon the expiry of one month from the date of filing the application for marriage registration. This period may be reduced at the request of future spouses. For this purpose, the applicants must submit a written request to which a document confirming the reason for the urgency shall be attached.
The application for marriage registration, in written form, shall be submitted personally by the future spouses to the Civil Status Registry Office in whose territorial area one of the future spouses or their parents resides.
