TOP-5 most frequent mistakes made by candidates during driving test, category B

According to data provided by the Department of vehicle registration and driver qualification of the Public Services Agency, the most frequent mistakes made by candidates for obtaining a category B driving licence (about 85% of the total number of candidates), during 01.01. 2022-30.09.2022, were as follows:

  1. (No) signalling or incorrect signalling of the direction of travel.
  2. Failure to synchronize the actions when starting/accelerating/braking: incorrect adaptation of gears to travel speed, incorrect use of control devices, incorrect operation of the steering wheel (a single penalty).
  3. Loss of control of the vehicle and/or the examiner's intervention to avoid an imminent danger or a road accident; manifestations of the candidate that cause disturbances of the exam.
  4. Non-observance of traffic signalization, road signs or road markings.
  5. Failure to travel within the limits of the traffic lanes

The respective statistical data are to be sent to the Ministry of Education and Research, Business Association Union of Driving Schools and Training Centers, and vehicle drivers training units, so that they draw attention to the respective aspects during the training hours.

Since the beginning of this year, 41346 persons have registered for the theoretical test, 21862 of whom have passed the test at the first attempt (the success rate of 52.9%). 36182 persons have registered for the practical test, 8627 persons of whom have passed the test at the first attempt (the success rate of the practical exam at the first attempt – 23.8%).

In 2021, 58266 persons registered for the theoretical test, 32492 of whom passed the exam at the first attempt (success rate of the theoretical exam at the first attempt – 55.8%). 53405 persons registered for the practical test, 7656 of whom passed the exam at the first attempt (the success rate of the practical exam at the first attempt – 14.3%).
