During the year 2022, 9551 acts of divorce were registered, of which 82 were pronounced in respect of marriages registered in the same year. The duration of the shortest marriage recorded in 2022 counted 50 days.
During the year 2021, 9992 divorce certificates were registered. From the total number of divorces registered during the reference period, 79 were pronounced regarding marriages registered in the same year. The shortest marriage registered in 2021 lasted 32 days.
Divorce registration is carried out on the basis of:
- joint declaration of the spouses regarding the divorce;
- declaration of one of the spouses regarding the divorce and the court decision (judgment) (if the other spouse is: subject to a measure of judicial protection in the form of guardianship; declared missing; sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of more than 3 years);
- court decision regarding the dissolution of the marriage;
- notarial conclusion of the dissolution of the marriage by the spouses’ consent.
The divorce based on a joint declaration of the spouses or of one of the spouses is registered in the Civil Registry Office at the place of residence of both or one of the spouses or in the Civil Registry Office in which the marriage was registered. The divorce based on the court decision regarding the dissolution of the marriage is registered in the Civil Registry Office in the territorial area of the respective court, either at the request of both or one of the ex-spouses, or in the absence of such request.
A prosperous society is based on a happy and healthy family. The Public Services Agency urges you to resort to divorce as an extreme measure, if no other ways of solving the conflicts between the two spouses are found.
