Today, March 22, 2023, the director of the Public Services Agency, Mircea ESANU, and the president of the National Authority for Citizenship (ANC), Gabriela LENGHEL, signed an additional agreement to the Memorandum of Collaboration concluded by the two institutions last November.
During the discussions specific topics were addressed with regard to the fields of civil status and citizenship, ways of implementing digitization elements in the process of registering civil status documents and providing civil status services.
The parties signatories to the document have agreed on the need to further strengthen and expand the dialogue, ensuring the exchange of best practices and institutional expertise.
The delegation led by Gabriela LENGHEL also included: Vasile-Silviu Boroi, director, Litigation and Public Relations Department, member of the Commission for Citizenship; Marius Chintoiu, director, Department of Technical Secretariat of the Commission for Citizenship; chairman of the Commission for Citizenship; Vladimir Gira, adviser, NAC president’s office, and Mausela Pitigoi, Romania consul general to the Republic of Moldova.

The National Authority for Citizenship is a Romanian public institution of national interest, with legal personality, subordinate to the Ministry of Justice, with full competencies in matters of citizenship, regarding both the application of the procedure for granting, reacquiring and terminating the quality of Romanian citizenship and the issues of advising citizens in matters of citizenship.
