On Sunday, April 30, 2023, the elections for the position of the Head (Bascan) will be held in ATU Gagauzia, and the national local elections have been set for autumn this year.
In this context, the Public Services Agency urges the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with voting rights to check the validity of their identity documents and take actions to exchange them before the date of elections, if they are not valid or expire in the near future.
In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, only voters whose places of domicile or temporary residence are registered in the respective administrative territorial unit participate in the election of local council and mayor, and the term of registration should not be less than 3 months until the date of the first round of voting.
According to the legislation, people can apply for an identity card issuance during a period of up to one year before reaching the age of 25 and 45. In such situations, the identity card is issued for a period immediately following the respective age.
Applicants can apply to any multifunctional center of the Public Services Agency, regardless of their registered place of domicile and/or temporary residence, and those being abroad - to the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova (DMCO). In the absence of DMCO in the state of residence of the applicant the respective application can be submitted to any DMCO.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, on the day of the ATU Gagauzia Governor’s elections, the multifunctional centers in Comrat, Ceadir-Lunga and Vulcanesti will operate according to a special work schedule: from 7:00 to 21:00. The respective subdivisions will issue provisional identity cards and hand over the manufactured identity documents to ensure the participation in the elections.
