The Public Services Agency (PSA) informs that today, the National Anti-Corruption Centre (NAC), under the procedural supervision of prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, is carrying out criminal investigation actions in a criminal case concerning suspicions of corruption in the process of registering vehicles from the left bank of the Dniester and issuing registration plates with neutral numbers.
The actions concern employees of the Vehicle Registration Section in Tiraspol Municipality, within the Department for Vehicle Registration and Driver Qualification, as well as other persons, including officials of the Customs Service.
The PSA notes that it has played an active role in documenting this case. Throughout the investigation, the institution provided the necessary assistance and support to the criminal investigation authorities, including by providing the information and materials requested by NAC officers, thus directly contributing to the investigation and clarification of the circumstances of the case. This cooperation facilitated the identification and documentation of the alleged illegal scheme through which neutral registration numbers were allegedly issued unlawfully to vehicles that did not meet the legal requirements.
The Public Services Agency reaffirms its zero-tolerance stance towards corruption and any other unlawful actions and will continue to cooperate fully with the competent institutions throughout the investigation.
